i don’t like it when people say marius isn’t a well-developed character or a jerk for not picking éponine in the musical. the fact that he even talks to and befriends éponine in a time when social distinctions mattered so much shows he is a good person. marius takes part in a revolution to help the poor, which also says a lot about his character. i don’t think those who say he is a jerk in the musical know what they are saying.
