i do not understand how anyone can justify hating a character. victor hugo created every one of his characters to fulfill a purpose. the only two i can understand people disliking are the thénardiers — but even then, they possess attributes that build the message in the story as a whole. instead of saying how much you hate cosette, why not think about the overarching message of les mis and start spreading the love?
