even though i was at the 25th anniversary concert, i find the 10th much more moving.
when i watch lea salonga’s “i dreamed a dream,” i become distracted by her jawline.
when the four valjeans sing together at the end of the 25ac, alfie boe’s white puffy shirt makes him look like a pirate.
i usually can’t stand cosette in the musical, but i don’t mind katie hall’s performance in the 25th anniversary concert. i think it may be just because i find her quite adorable.
i first heard lea salonga during the 25th anniversary concert and instantly fell in love with her. a few years later, i learned she was the singing voice of mulan in the disney film, which was my favorite movie as a child. i was delighted. i love to think that i always loved her voice, even if I didn’t know it at the time.
during the 25th anniversary “empty chairs at empty tables”, i cried when grantaire put his hand on gavroche’s shoulder.
it instantly brings a smile to my face when alfie boe starts singing in the valjean quartet. he has one of the most beautiful voices i have ever heard, and he is by far my favorite jean valjean!
i think earl carpenter makes an incredibly sexy bishop of digne. i realize how incredibly odd this sounds, but i can’t help it. he’s a handsome fella.
the way katie hall put her hand to her chest in “in my life” when she sang “just a whisper away, waiting for me” in the 25ac made me laugh. she’s great, but to me the gesture seemed like something grantaire would do during a drunken speech.
i sob my way through the tenth anniversary concert every time, but the only time i cried during the 25th anniversary was when colm came out and sang at the end. because suddenly, the world seemed right again.
les mis changed my life, and the 25ac cast will forever be my favorite — jonas and all.
the 25th anniversary concert was the first time i saw les mis, and i thought it was fairly good. but after seeing the musical live recently, i think the anniversary concert stunk. they should have done it like phantom’s 25th and performed the whole musical, and not just the main scenes in concert form. i’m now sad that the anniversary was my first.
i ship courfeyrac/enjolras. the way he looks at him sometimes really makes me think they’d be a great couple.
hadley fraser’s portrayal of grantaire was terrible.
nick jonas’ expressions distract me. i giggle every time i watch this part.
