i didn’t think i’d miss craig mather half as much as i do — but to be honest, i’m still pining for the 2011-12 london cast.
i want to be craig mather’s cosette. no shame.
i feel weird seeing all the craig mather marius love because, even if i didn’t know him, he went to my secondary school and left the year before i came and is friends with my friends and it’s just weird to have that connection. (image courtesy ach-nein)
i don’t know how i’m going to cope when craig mather leaves the cast. he’s just such an amazing marius. (photo courtesy ach-nein)
craig mather’s rendition of “empty chairs at empty tables” is the best i’ve heard in a long time.
craig mather as marius, nancy sullivan as éponine, katie hall as cosette, liam tamne as enjolras, and ramin karimloo as jean valjean would be a flawless cast.
the fact that craig mather is staying on until january is the only thing stopping me from descending into a cast-change related depression.
i don’t get the hate some people have for craig rather’s marius. why does marius need to be older and more mature? i found craig to be a very brick-accurate marius; he acted like a boyish man more than a grown man, he was lovey-dovey at the right moments, and he wasn’t too close with éponine before “a little fall of rain”. he controls his cuteness and awkwardness as well. people seem to forget marius is just 21 in the book and an introverted dreamer.
i’d love for craig mather and katie hall to sing “a heart full of love” together. it would be the cutest performance the world has ever seen.
i’ve only seen les misérables in london once so i can’t judge very well, but i would say that anyone wishing to play marius after craig mather has a sky high standard to meet. i have never seen the death of éponine played with such soul and heartbreak, and i’m glad someone finally did it.
