lately, a friend of mine has become obsessed with les mis, especially the e/r ship. while i’m really pleased that we share something we love now, i also wish she’d stop telling me every headcanon and her analysis of every tiny gesture and offhand line from those two characters. i’m just supremely uninterested in shipping characters from les mis; shipping is not the reason i fell in love with this story.
ramin karimloo’s enjolras really bothers me. his redeeming feature is entirely his singing, but even with that, it’s safe to say he doesn’t make my dream cast.
christopher jacobsen was the first enjolras i saw live and was so perfect in my eyes, it makes me both joyous and sad that i will never again see anyone as spot on to my image of book!enjolras.
i feel like an outsider in the fandom because i did not enjoy aaron tveit’s performance as enjolras.
it angers me when people harass other fans who ship enjolras with a woman. canon or not, people are allowed to ship him with whomever they choose.
in my head enjolras looks exactly like cher horowitz from clueless.
although i thought aaron tveit looked the part of enjolras and sang his songs well, it felt like he didn’t really have a particularly good understanding of the character.
i dislike how the film really emphasises the misconception that the students were kids who’d gotten in over their head. aaron tveit’s enjolras didn’t seem to know what he was doing or why he was doing it, when there’s nothing in the book or the musical that implies that.
i wish he smiled at least once.
i think that the reason i don’t like ramin karimloo as valjean is because to me, he is the perfect enjolras.
i have a soft spot for the tac, but have to admit maguire is pretty far from my interpretation of enjolras … so now whenever i watch it, i pretend the real enjolras was sick that week, and combeferre built a buffybot-style replacement with a slightly malfunctioning personality chip.
i wish they had kept “do you hear the people sing” how it is sung in the musical so we could have seen aaron sing it as passionately as other enjolras before him; for example ramin karimloo and david thaxton.
i hated aaron tveit’s portrayal of enjolras.
i hope aaron tveit will get to play enjolras onstage someday.
i don’t see why more people don’t ship cosette and enjolras — personally, i think they would make an amazing couple because they’re so different
