because of les mis, i checked out the phantom of the opera. however, as a result, i can no longer take the line “i dreamed that love would never die” in “i dreamed a dream” seriously anymore! it makes me giggle, thinking of the laughable mess that love never dies was — a reaction that’s definitely not the one that line should elicit.
